Projects

RCS stand.jpg

I led a team to Design, analyze, and manufacture a test stand to validate the Yellow Jacket Space Program's ability to autonomously control the roll rate of our rocket accurately and reliably.

We created a P&ID, Bill of Matireals, and custom electronics package for the test stand. Using MATLAB vehicle simulations, we calculated the roll rate based on various fin cants and winds. We then found the corresponding forces needed to correct the veichle, and based our test stand off those reqirements.

I overhauled the previous design and fully re-did the current CAD. I also prepared and presented the project for approval at a critical design review.

Eagle Scout Project

I achieved the highest rank in Scouting America, Eagle Scout. This award was a culmination of 10 years of work and a capstone Eagle Scout project  involving over 160 emails and over 100 hours of work. For my project, I restored a shade shed structure by replacing structurally compromised cross beams, re-staining the full structure, replacing the bench underneath, and doing surrounding landscaping improvements.

While in scouting, I served as the Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, helping lead meetings and keeping the troop organized. I also helped teach younger scouts many foundational scouting skills for the scout, tenderfoot, and second class ranks.

Check Valve

I designed a flight-ready check valve for use in an aerospace vehicle. I then conducted analysis to ensure the valve had a CdA over 0.08, was functional in from 30-600 PSI, and was structrually sound. I conducted a preliminary design review to a jury of my peers.

This was my project with the Yellow Jacket Space Program, and helped introduce me to their engineering standards. I have since gone on to work on other projects for the club using this project as a foundation.

Together with a team, we designed a high-quality CAD model of a custom John Deere-themed watch. I personally designed the majority of the internal components, such as the CPU, battery, resistor, and Motherboard. The project aimed to embodied brand identity while not necessarily being fully realistic.

Education

I headed the social media efforts of a club of over 400 people across Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Reddit accounts. There, I promoted vital sponsor relationships and made posts for 13 companies.

Those Instagram posts averaged over five thousand views, and posts made to generate hype for launches averaged over ten thousand views per post. In addition, I created a funding post that generated over $36,000 for the club.

I spearheaded a team to develop a functional prototype for delivering prescription medication to hurricane victims. This is the third most common reason for a hospital visit after a hurricane, but it is an overlooked problem.

My team created a logistical system to identify target areas and multiple potential revenue streams to support the idea. Specifically, I created the CAD model of our UAV. I also manufactured the working drop mechanism and housing for the medication.
